Abstract. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the investment potential of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) in the municipalities of Krasnodar Krai for the period 2022–2025. The agro-industrial complex is examined as a multicomponent socio-economic system, the development of which is determined by a combination of resource,  technological,  infrastructural,  and  institutional  factors.  The  subject  of  the  study  is  the  aggregate  of investment processes in the region’s agrarian sector, including the dynamics of capital investment volumes, and sectoral and territorial investment structure, as well as the impact of technological modernization,  production digitalization, and state support measures on the sustainability and efficiency of agro-industrial complex development. The methodological framework of the study combines quantitative and qualitative research methods, systemic and comparative analysis, and provisions of institutional-evolutionary theory, as well as concepts of regional economic growth and sustainable development of rural territories. The empirical results indicate a moderately upward trend in investments  in  fixed  capital  of  the  region’s  agro-industrial  complex  while  maintaining  significant  territorial concentration: approximately 40% of the total capital investments are accumulated in four leading municipalities. Modernization investments account for about 30% of the total investment volume, with the level of digitalization exceeding 55% of agricultural organizations. State support for the agro-industrial complex during the analyzed period reached 58.5 billion rubles, contributing to the growth of capital investments, although its distribution remains territorially uneven. The conclusions emphasize the need to develop targeted institutional policies, expand the participation  of  small-scale  farming  entities  in  investment  processes,  diversify  technological  strategies,  and purposefully develop transport, logistics, and digital infrastructure in order to reduce territorial disparities and enhance the overall sustainability of the investment process. The obtained results have practical significance for improving regional investment policy, increasing competitiveness, and ensuring sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex in Krasnodar Krai. Authors’ contribution. D.M. Shefer initiated the research, defined the conceptual framework and scientific logic of the work, formulated the research goal and objectives, developed the methodological framework, including the justification of the application of the institutional-evolutionary and regional approaches, and interpreted the key empirical results and formulated the final conclusions and recommendations. K.D. Temirchev provided the collection, systematization, and primary processing of statistical data on investments in fixed assets of the agro-industrial complex of the municipalities of the Krasnodar Krai for 2022–2025 and conducted a quantitative analysis of the dynamics and sectoral and territorial structure of investments, as well as an assessment of the impact of technological modernization and digitalization on investment activity. V.V. Bratkova analyzed the measures of state support for the agro-industrial complex of the region, assessed their scale, structure, and territorial distribution, and participated in the generalization of empirical results.
Key words: agro-industrial complex, investment potential, municipalities, technological modernization, state support, spatial concentration, Krasnodar Krai, digitalization, infrastructure, structural disparities.
