Abstract. Digital transformation is a determining factor of economic growth in the regions of the Russian Federation in the context of global digitalization. The purpose of this paper is to analyze comprehensively the impact of digital transformation on the economic development of the territories of the Russian Federation in relation to the regional economy. The study presents the dynamics of key indicators of digitalization in the Russian Federation for 2017–2023, including the share of the population using electronic public services, the level of digital maturity of the authorities, digital  literacy,  the  volume  of  gross  expenditure  on  the  digital  economy,  and  the  number  of  IT  specialists. The methodological basis of the study was formed by quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis, including elements of systemic and institutional approaches, methods of economic and statistical data processing, correlation, and regression analysis. In the conditions of global digitalization of the Russian economy, special attention is paid to national projects aimed at the acceleration of technological progress and improvement of the country’s competitiveness. Both positive and negative effects of digital transformation of the economy for regional development are presented. To assess the impact of digital transformation on the economic development of the Russian territories, modeling was carried out using such indicators as gross value added, amount of funding, and key target indicators of the federal projects “Information Infrastructure,” “Digital Public Administration,” and “Personnel for Digital Economy” of the Digital Economy national project. Based on the built model, a forecast of regional economic development under the influence of digital transformation processes in the Russian economy is suggested. The results of the study show that the successful implementation of digital initiatives contributes to the sustainable development of territories but requires a balanced distribution of resources and the elimination of interregional disparities. Digitalization contributes to the modernization of management, reduction of transaction costs, and expansion of access to services but is accompanied by  institutional  barriers,  personnel  limitations,  and  obvious  territorial  heterogeneity.  Authors’  contribution. E.A.
