Abstract. The purpose of the article is to analyze scientific and theoretical concepts of strategic development of enterprises in industrial production. The relevance of this goal is due to the fact that in the context of global economic changes and technological transformation, the development of scientifically based approaches to strategic planning for this category of enterprises is gaining theoretical and practical importance. The application of scientific and theoretical concepts should be adapted to the regional, sectoral, financial, and economic conditions of industrial firms and take into account their development trends. In the current macroeconomic conditions, the process of strategic planning for the development of industrial enterprises should be flexible. Management systems should rationally use the most effective elements of theoretical concepts that meet long-term development goals and objectives, combined with tactical solutions. The study analyzed the following main theoretical approaches to strategic planning in industrial enterprises: a resource-based approach, a competence-based approach, an approach based on the dynamic capabilities theory, and a positional approach. It is established that the resource-based approach is the most effective for enterprises operating in stable markets; the competence-based approach is applicable in highly competitive conditions. The dynamic capabilities theory is optimal for enterprises operating in rapidly changing industries, and the positional approach is suitable for companies in mature and stable markets. It is shown that the choice of a specific approach to strategic planning depends on the characteristics of the external environment and the internal capabilities of the enterprise. In complex and rapidly changing markets, it may be advisable to combine these approaches, which allows for both sustainable internal resources and the ability to flexibly adapt to changes.
Key words: strategic planning, industrial enterprise, resource-based approach, competence-based approach, dynamic capabilities theory, positional approach.
