Abstract. The relevance of the analyzed subject is that economically steady and socially developed rural territories are the guarantors of stability and food security of the state and therefore their development has to become a priority direction of state policy. The authors have paid a special attention to problems of the development of rural territories connected with the reduction of the population number; decrease in indicators of level and life standard in the village; unemployment growth. In the article the assessment of the modern social, economic and demographic situation in the village is given. It is defined that negative consequences of socioeconomic transformations of the last decades promoted in rural territories the condition of a long system crisis. In the opinion of the authors, one of the ways out concerning the current situation can be the solution of the problem of support from the state of all forms of rural business which, using the international experience, is capable of accelerating significantly the reform of the economic system and to provide the necessary growth of production and welfare of the population. The state support of the business consists in a conscious creation of economic and legal conditions, incentives for the business development, and also in an investment of material and financial resources on preferential conditions. It is proved that at the heart of the definition and the choice of the most effective methods of the implementation of the state support there has to be an analysis of features of functioning of various business forms.
