Abstract.
The current state and problems of food security in the country and the region are analyzed. On the basis of the analysis of threats due to Russia’s accession to the WTO, in the aspect of the sanctions of the EU in connection with the events in Ukraine, measures to ensure the competitiveness of the agricultural sector at the regional level were proposed and justified.
