Abstract.

Oil reserves, degree of scrutiny and direction of economic development have a direct impact on the economic potential of the country, on the social development of the regions. This article provides a brief analysis of the domestic oil processing industry development. The main problems and prospects of the development of domestic oil refining enterprises are analysed.

Key words: oil industry; oil refineries, fuel and energy complex, the Southern Federal district, the North-Caucasian Federal district, the Northern Caspian region.
