Abstract.

The article examines the spatial and economic aspects of the management of the city development. The research methodology is based on the ideas of spatial economics, traditions of analysis of territorial organization and the flow of capital in the economic space. The author studies the possibilities and limitations in the development of the urban space under the conditions deindustrialization. Suggestions are made for the selection of optimal control actions on the development of the city.
