Abstract.

In the article the analysis is made and the assessment of the economic consequences of the Russia's joining of the WTO are given. The potential costs and eventual advantages for industrial enterprises are revealed. The most vulnerable basic industries of the South Federal District are shown including the metellurgical complex of the South Federal District. Ways of modernization of the regional industrial policy are offered.
