Abstract. The modern labor market is becoming increasingly diverse and dynamic. This necessitates the development of tools for its forecasting. The purpose of this study is to create a labor balance model that reflects the new realities of the digital economy, which include various types of employment, both formal and informal ones. The research hypothesis sounds as follows. Based on behavioral theory and the generational approach, it is important not only to predict the professional and qualification levels but also the forms of employment. The results of a labor force survey made by the Federal Service for State Statistics and a survey of 500 residents of the Volgograd region conducted by the authors were used. A model of the digital twin of the regional employment market was developed. It includes such assessment indicators as the number of employees in the formal and informal sectors, as well as self-employed and platform-based employees. To ensure their high-quality updating, a system of prompts for ChatGPT and YandexGPT 5 Pro was proposed. The article identified differences in the nature of employment based on the characteristics of the Z, Y, X, and baby boomer generations. It also identifies the primary career paths that different generations prefer when they lose their current jobs. Advantages of the model are as follows. It 1) is cost-effective, as it is built on the use of an existing and updated database; 2) is productive due to the use of artificial intelligence; 3) expands the characteristics of the labor market and the possibilities of shaping the career and educational expectations of the population; and 4) allows for the prediction of generational features of the labor market and for the harmonization of interaction between employees and employers. This will create additional opportunities for determining the priorities of technical modernization and will allow for the expansion of tools for state regulation of the labor market.
