Abstract.

The paper examines major peculiarities of the demographic process, analyses ethnical and population risks and reveals features of the historically conditioned forms of the interethnic conflicts management. The author defines the core set of the population policy priorities in the regions of the North Caucasus District, outlines the main strategic directions of the social policy.
